    Yum doesn’t work. There is no 7/ directory on the mirrors.centos.org. Why do you release something as RC if it doesn’t work?

    • Christoph Galuschka says:

      We didn’t release anything to the mirror network. The RC build can be found here: http://buildlogs.centos.org/centos/7/os/x86_64-20140704-1/

    • Wolfram says:

      Yum can work. You have to change Centos-Base.repo like this:

      [base]
      name=CentOS-$releasever – Base
      #mirrorlist=http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=$releasever&arch=$basearch&repo=os
      #baseurl=http://mirror.centos.org/centos/$releasever/os/$basearch/
      baseurl=http://buildlogs.centos.org/centos/7/os/x86_64-20140704-1/
      gpgcheck=0
      gpgkey=file:///etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-CentOS-7

      Because I got failed installation because of non signed packages, I have disabled gpkcheck for the moment.
      I even use it in my private “production”. It works like a charm. When the mirrors are installed, then I use the original Centos-Base.repo, which I have backuped.

      I think the friends of Redhat and CentOs have done great work.

      Greetings
      Wolfram

        I’m new user Centos 7,
        Please,I would like config the repo, and I don’t know how proceed; Someone could help me?

      • Ricardo Silva says:

        Now everything is fine! I managed to configure the repo;I’m trying install Cinnamon Desktop… Thank you!

    • Ricardo Silva says:

      Centos 7 supports Cinnamon 2.2?

  • Zaptastic says:

    The “latest” symlink for nightly builds is still pointing to a July 2nd tree. There is a July 4th tree so you will have to edit your /etc/yum.repos.d/*.conf file(s) to update.

  • Zaptastic says:

    Switching my nightly to the RC via yum hit a snag. The centos-release package will not automatically update. I had to download the new centos-release RPM and remove the old one “rpm -e” then rename “/usr/share/redhat-release” and “/usr/share/doc/redhat-release” to get them out of the way. Then I could install the new centos-release RPM.

    After that I had to clean up /etc/yum.repos.d/ since mirrors.centos.org gives 403s when I tried it.

    Things are OK now and the code name shifted from “Broken” to “Core”.

    Awesome. Downloaded the boot and following the instructions of installation from another post.

    Just installed, going to give feedback after a weekend of using it! :)

  • Sai Vinoba says:

    The URL seems to be wrong. The isos are in http://buildlogs.centos.org/centos/7/isos/x86_64/.

  • hadrons123 says:

    I understand that there is no official upgrade to final from the images posted at the buildlogs.centos.org.

    But isn’t it a matter of changing centos-Base repository variables to move to the final from the RC release?

    Correct me if I am wrong.

    • Christoph Galuschka says:

      Some packages changed in a way which prevents them from simply being updated.

    • Zaptastic says:

      I did upgrade not rebuild from ISO. I wrote some comments about the process above. If you have specific questions about specific issues feel free to ask.

  • Harri says:

    One point in istallation: having CentOS 6.5 as primary OS residing on LUKS encrypted partition (sda2) like separate home (sda4). Installing CentOS 7 to LUKS encrypted partition (sda3) and common boot partition (sda1). And yes – no swap – just lots of RAM and SSD disk. Very fast but GRUB2 install does not boot C 6.5 and mixes LUKD-UUIDs. Must be fixed by hand and trial and error. Did same loophopping with C6.5 and Debian 7.2 but got it working. How about clear upgrade path for Workstation products… or is it still only server product?

  • tester4 says:

    Would anyone be able to provide the magic incantation linnes to boot the CentOS 7 live ISO image (say on sda1 in /iso/livecd-centos-7-live-gnome-201406261459.iso) from say Fedora 20 grub2 (/boot/grub2/grub.cfg)?

    Thanks much!!

    Updating from the Public QA Release (
    http://seven.centos.org/2014/06/centos-7-public-qa-release/ ) finds no updated packages. Is it the expected behavior?
